Assistant Director of Music
David Moore

David Moore hails from Sussex and was educated at Warden Park School and Ardingly College. He then held a gap-year organ scholarship at Sherborne Abbey before going up to read music, as Organ Scholar, of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. During David's tenure the choir undertook several cathedral visits and national and international tours culminating in a two week concert tour of Ontario, Canada. The Choir also recorded their first CD 'Pie Pelicane' (2006) with David playing and directing (although not at the same time...!). Two of David's compositions for the feast of Corpus Christi can be heard on the disk: 'Pie Pelicane' and the 'Corpus Christi Carol'. Corpus Christi College Choir have just released another disk 'O Sacrum Convivium' (2011) on which David's 'Corpus Christi Carol' can be heard again.

From 2006-2007 David held the Organ Scholarship at Truro Cathedral and then worked at Bishop's Stortford College for a year before coming to Hampstead Parish Church as Assistant Director of Music and Director of the Junior Choir in September 2008.

David's duties as Hampstead include accompanying and directing the professional adult choir for choral services. The Junior Choir, which David runs, is currently flourishing and has 16 members. Under David's direction the Junior Choir have greatly enlarged their repertoire and have recently started to sing regular services of Choral Evensong in the church on Thursday evenings as well as singing out in the local community. He has written several pieces for the choir: Wash me thoroughly (2009), The Preces and Responses (2009), Sing Lullaby (2010) The First Service for Trebles (2011). David also organises a lunchtime concert series in the church, provides music for 'Holy Hamsters' (a service for pre-school children on Thursday mornings) and gets involved with music at Hampstead Parochial School.

In addition to his work in Hampstead, David is also a visiting tutor of piano at the London Oratory School. He gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists in 2009.

David is married to Lucinda who works for the 'Mary Evans Picture Library.' They live in the parish and in their spare time like going on country rambles and visiting historic sights.
